Lasting Impacts: Building Relationships through ​Sports Ministry 

The Kenai Peninsula Sports Camp started in 2015, offering two separate weeks of camp and several different sports to choose from---all for the low registration fee of $10 per kid, per week. One father who brought his two sons the very first week of sports camp last year said he was amazed at not only the quality of our camp, but also the price. This father, like many, can't afford to send his sons for $300 each to camps around the Peninsula, so he really appreciated the $10 fee for our camp. More than that, he appreciated how the coaches poured into his sons. He told Alaska Missions staffers that his kids would be back every week every year that we hold the camp so that his boys could learn something from us.
 
This family was back and ready to play again in 2016! After completing this year's camp, they have now been to all four weeks we have held camp and are looking forward to next year. ​

This is just one family impacted by the power of sports ministry. What began as providing a valuable opportunity to a family is developing into a lasting relationship and open doors to pour into both kids and the parents. The fact that we are training up some awesome young athletes is an added bonus!
