IDITAROD OUTREACH FINISH

WEEK 1: March 12 - 18, 2021
WEEK 2: March 18 - 23, 2021
***
2021*** Willow, Alaska

Join us in the Arctic
              regions of Alaska!

Housing is limited - Trip fills early - Don't Delay
Attention Week 2 Teams: You will hit the ground and begin serving immediately upon arrival in Nome on the 18th.  If you feel that you will be fatigued from the flight to Alaska,  you may want to come to Anchorage a day early and book yourself a hotel room. If you choose to do this, any costs associated with early arrival are your personal responsibility.
Bring your long-johns and join Alaska Missions in our fourteenth year at the Iditarod finish line. Our task is two-fold: reach the Native culture as well as the musher sub-culture of Alaska.  You will cheer on mushers crossing the finish line, permeate the volunteer force of the Iditarod, and serve at the annual Basketball tournament. We host the concession stand at the Lonnie O'Connor Iditarod Basketball Classic, conduct prayer walks, minister to village elders, and host a kid's club. The ministry opportunities are endless. While in Nome, experience Muskox, and other wildlife and if conditions are right, the northern lights!

During week two in Nome, there is an added bonus of serving with Alaska Missions at the Iditarod Finish. We also help host the Musher's Banquet, serving over 800 persons; in addition, we host the Red Lantern Banquet, aiding the Iditarod Staff in the culminating activities and celebrations of this international event.
